[:en]In her figurative oil paintings, Ursula Singer assembles figures and themes from European motif tradition. The Roman goddess Venus can be found next to Napoleon Bonaparte and a worker from the 1920s. At first, these „samples“ enter the canvas individually, and then begin to live in the process of painting and enter into an awkward interaction. They often change considerably in the process, follow an inherent logic into autonomy and „work in concert“ with their fellow players. This way, a temporal aspect comes into play. The picture is complete when it has reached a certain stage of equilibrium, but some aspects always remain unsolved and open.

- Despite on-going and persisting painting and writing, Singer chooses to study music in Munich and Detmold
- Work experience at the theatre (Bayrische Staatsoper) and with record companies, later works for a long period in a responsible position for one of the big European record labels for classical music; Cooperation with many major musicians
- Freelance work for television
- Re-intensified her painting in 2007 and also her drawing in 2011
