Kunstwerke "Flieger in zwei Teilen" und "Soldaten auf Wiese"

[:de]David Baurs ehemaliger Studien- und Atelierkollege Matthias Reinholdt erläutert treffend dessen Arbeiten:
 
„Als externer Gutachter kann ich nachdrücklich bestätigen, dass David Baur ein Kaliber ist, der mit seinem ganzheitlich-performativen Auftreten den kollektiven Wahn von der Erklärbarkeit der Welt wohltuend torpediert. In der Malerei Baurs ist diese Subversivität scheinbar am fassbarsten. Dennoch entfalten seine Tafeln erst im Kontext von Sandsackwällen und Kampfständen ihre auratische Kraft als Ikonen menschlicher Aktivität. Diese Aktivität wird nicht beurteilt, lediglich registriert, ästhetisch reproduziert und somit transportabel gemacht.“

[:en]David Baur´s former fellow student, Matthias Reinholdt, who also shared a workshop with him, aptly describes his works:
 
„In my role as external reviewer, I can only confirm with emphasis that David Baur is an artist who sabotages the collective craze of wanting to explain the world by means of his holistic-performative approach in a soothing manner. This subversiveness seems to become most tangible in Baur´s painting. But still, his boards only develop their auratic power as icons of human activity in the context of sand bags and weapon emplacements. The activity is not judged but only acknowledged, aesthetically reproduced and in this way made portable.“

  • Studies in Art Education at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design (Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart) from 1999 to 2004, taught by, among others, Prof. Moritz Baumgartl, Prof. Sotorius Michou, master class in graphic arts and painting by Prof. Alexander Roob
